"Juvenile Lionfish"

Courtney Platt

Regular price $95.00 Sale

A two inch long juvenile Lionfish feeds on plankton attracted to my dive light during a night dive on “Macro Reef”, Yap, Micronesia. Best known for its mantas, Yap is great for macro too. This is undoubtedly my favorite fish portrait yet. The fins of the juveniles are far more graceful than those of the adults.

Courtney Platt Courtney Platt's first appearance in National Geographic was "Down the Cayman Wall" in 1988.  Six NG assignments later, Courtney is still in Grand Cayman, with some of the best coral reefs on the planet in his back yard.
